Part 3/7:
This malaise isn’t restricted to one film; Mickey 17, a sci-fi comedy, has flopped spectacularly with a budget of $120 million against a meager global return of just $90 million. Captain America: Brave New World, which has been lingering in theaters more than a month after release, has also underperformed, costing up to $300 million and managing only to surpass the $400 million mark briefly.
In contrast, the only shining beacon of hope may be Steven Soderbergh’s Black Bag, featuring an All-Star cast and a compelling screenplay. Strangely, this film has received minimal marketing, raising questions about how it will perform against a tide of mediocrity and flops.
