This decision warrants examination. Chinese banks have historically favored lending in Renminbi due to lower costs compared to both Euros and US dollars, especially with current interest rates favoring the Chinese economy. Meanwhile, rates in the EU have risen to 3.8% while China's have decreased to around 3.5%. Nonetheless, the influx of Euros from trade surpluses with the EU presented a unique opportunity to lend using those reserves instead.
