Part 2/9:

To embark on a journey to discover this boiling river, one must venture to eastern central Peru, deep into the Amazonian jungle. A journey of three to four hours through rugged terrain leads to a tribal community called Mayan Tuakug. There flows the Shennai Tempishka, a river notorious for its constant steaming and boiling, a tributary nourishing the vast Amazon.

The existence of this river was first brought to the scientific forefront by Andre Russo, a geoscientist, who was inspired by the tales told by his grandfather. Despite facing challenges in locating it—often obscured until one climbs the surrounding hills—he found that this legendary river indeed existed and was vital for the local communities who had known of its presence long before scientific acknowledgment.
