Despite his standout numbers and offers from several colleges, Dart ultimately committed to USC in 2020, joining a team still finding its footing post-Sam Darnold. As a four-star recruit, he encountered a dramatic debut when he was thrust into the action against Washington State after Clay Helton’s firing, breaking JT Daniels' record for most passing yards in a debut.
Transfer to Ole Miss
However, Dart's time at USC was cut short with Lincoln Riley's arrival and the subsequent signing of Caleb Williams, prompting Dart to enter the transfer portal. He found a new home at Ole Miss under Lane Kiffin, where Dart’s ground game and steady, albeit sometimes erratic, offensive play began to take shape.
