Part 1/9:
Microsoft Introduces Ad-Supported Office
This week, Microsoft began testing a free version of its Office suite integrated with advertisements. Reports from the Indian outlet B-bomb revealed that the company is exploring a desktop application for Windows, adorned with persistent sidebar ads. For now, the advertisements primarily promote Microsoft's own services, such as Clipchamp and a feature called "read aloud." Interestingly, users can only save documents to OneDrive, not to their local machines, hinting that the initiative may focus on promoting Microsoft's other services rather than traditional advertising.
