After seasoning the veggies, remove them from heat and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, add your baked black beans. Using a potato masher, mash the beans until they’re about 75-80% broken down, leaving some whole for texture. Next, mix in the sautéed veggies, followed by half a cup of chickpea flour, a tablespoon each of vegan Worcestershire sauce and barbecue sauce, and a tablespoon of nutritional yeast.
Ensure everything is mixed thoroughly; the chickpea flour is essential for binding the mixture together.
Shaping the Patties
Oil your hands for easy shaping and scoop out about a third of a cup of the mixture to form patties approximately half an inch thick. Place the patties in the fridge to chill for about 15 minutes. This process helps them hold together while cooking.
