Toasting the Buns and Cooking the Patties
In a pan over medium heat, add vegan butter to toast your burger buns until golden brown. Select any vegan bun you prefer, but a pretzel bun is highly recommended for its unique flavor.
Once the buns are toasted, switch to medium heat with about three tablespoons of avocado oil. Add your cold black bean patties and let them cook for about 15 seconds on medium heat before reducing it to medium-low. Cook for about three minutes on each side. If you’re adding vegan cheese, place it on one patty with one minute left to cook, then cover to help it melt.
