Adding Flavor and Cooking
Next, pour in the prepared chicken broth. At this stage, you can also add a chopped serrano pepper, freshly ground black pepper, and a few pinches of salt—adjust these to your personal taste.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover with a lid and reduce the heat to its lowest setting. Avoid removing the lid during cooking, as this will maintain the steam necessary for the rice to cook properly.
Cooking Time
Set a timer for 17 minutes. However, keep in mind that different stoves may affect cooking times, so it's wise to monitor your rice visually, especially if you're still perfecting your technique. Using a glass lid allows you to check the rice without lifting the cover.
