I was at a meeting with some friends today. We got talking about the algorithms of data and advertising and what we are shown on the internet, be it social media, adverts or streaming services. Most get political rubbish and a lot of things that just increase dopamine but don't do anything better in life. Two of my friends get really good information, like investments, market analyses and almost only positive social media. These two also have the best network of all of us. I get a mixture of both worlds. For a few weeks I only saw adverts for luxury cars, watches and property, but I also get a lot of politics.
The two that did best said that they had chosen the people they followed well, and that they had spent a few months trying to block anything that was digital rubbish. There are options to stop seeing certain content. For example, the new Camacho from the USA, you can block him and not see his outbursts, even though he controls the algorithm. You can train this algorithm. The more you deal with interesting things and the more rubbish you block, the better it gets.
What about you? Does your algorithm help you or are you just a product for others?
Just like here, pick and choose who you follow. I'm trying to follow more people, especially those you can interact with and learn from. There are already some very interesting people here that you would never have met outside of Hive. One of them is @sorin.cristescu, who you should also follow.

Ich war heute mit ein paar Freunden bei einem Treffen. Wir kamen ins Gespräch über die Algorithmen der Daten und Werbung und was uns im Internet gezeigt wird, sei es Social Media, Werbung oder Streaming-Dienste. Die meisten bekommen politischen Müll und viele Dinge, die nur das Dopamin erhöhen, aber nichts Besseres im Leben bringen. Zwei meiner Freunde bekommen wirklich gute Informationen, wie Investments, Marktanalysen und fast nur positive Social Media. Diese beiden haben auch das beste Netzwerk von uns allen. Ich bekomme eine Mischung aus beiden Welten. Ein paar Wochen habe ich nur Werbung für Luxusautos, Uhren und Immobilien gesehen, aber ich bekomme auch viel Politik mit.
Die beiden, die am besten abschnitten, sagten, dass sie die Leute, denen sie folgten, gut ausgewählt hatten, und dass sie einige Monate lang versucht hatten, alles zu blockieren, was digitaler Müll war. Es gibt Optionen, bestimmte Inhalte nicht mehr zu sehen. Zum Beispiel der neue Camacho aus den USA, den kann man blockieren und man sieht seine Ausraster nicht, obwohl er den Algorithmus kontrolliert. Diesen Algorithmus kann man trainieren. Je mehr man sich mit interessanten Dingen beschäftigt und je mehr Müll man blockiert, desto besser wird es.
Wie sieht es bei euch aus? Hilft euch euer Algorithmus oder seid ihr nur ein Produkt für andere?
Genau wie hier, sucht euch gut aus, wem ihr folgt. Ich versuche, mehr Leuten zu folgen, besonders denen, mit denen man interagieren und von denen man etwas lernen kann. Es gibt hier schon einige sehr interessante Leute, die man außerhalb von Hive nie kennengelernt hätte. Einer davon ist @sorin.cristescu, dem ihr auch folgen solltet.

Mein Algo schaut scheisse aus aktuell - abhängig von der jeweiligen Plattform natürlich :-). Kommt drauf an was Du mit Algo willst - Reichweite - Kommentare etc
