Solid post, much of your sentiment mirrors mine - though I haven't engaged in any speculation about the how it happened. What Hamas performed was a highly coordinated military action against both military and civilian targets. Credentials - I served as an Infantryman in the 10th Mountain Division in the US Army, I was a unit level trainer for reactive shooting and MOUT (Miliary Operations in Urban Terrain).
From watching clips of the assaults filmed by Hamas what I am observing is very well trained and disciplined fighters at least several clips. These people didn't just get handed AKs the day before - many of the participants were obviously well trained, and have problem seen combat in other regions. The Hamas attack required extensive preparation, training and rehearsal, and coordination - and that much activity generates signals with a large signature. It defies imagination that no warnings were observed unless Israel's regional intelligence capabilities have completed collapsed.
The breaches of the border were observed and reported, and no response was undertaken. We see the same failure modes repeated since 9/11, on 7/7, and Lahaina, in these horrific events that were only possible with the participation of governments that failed to stop them despite being fully capable of doing so, and the seizure of tyrannical power by those governments afterwards.
Wow, that would be mind blowing. You are suggesting that the leaders of a government would manufacture a crisis to distract the populous and convince them to give up rights guaranteed by the constitution. Which preserves the governments power.
There have been false flag attacks since long before the industrial revolution began. Nero, the Roman emperor, is said to have used his privately owned fire suppression company to set fires in order to gain ownership of that real estate during the absence of the owners of said property. There are many, many more examples, admitted, documented, and in the public record, of false flag attacks, such as the sinking of the Maine that sparked the Spanish-American war, or (claims) of attacks on US Naval forces that sparked the entry of America into Vietnam.
Also, it is Efrat Fenigson and Darren Brunner that state Israel has done this to spark the ethnic cleansing of Gaza. I merely report their statements.
No one is born knowing that false flag attacks happen. My first understanding of this endemic curse on government was local police officers murdering someone I knew for drugs, which they subsequently sold directly from the police station, and the incredible refusal to act on that crime my hometown undertook in my youth. All of us capable of understanding such machinations learn of them at some point in our lives, because they happen, and we aren't born with that knowledge.
Sadly, these events are always undertaken to increase the power of bad actors, and I am unaware any of them only maintained that power. I feel dirty, befouled, that I am the cause anyone, like yourself, comes to understand this evil, but yet hopeful good people are better able to defend themselves from such harm by having that understanding.
