Saturday Savers 2025 Progress Report - Week

in LeoFinance6 hours ago

It's Saturday ! I have no idea where the week went, but here we are on Saturday and Hive Power Up Day, so here's my weekly #SaturdaySavers update.

Here's my table of progress for the week;

How Did The Week Go ?

It's been a good week ! Despite being busy in real life (as always !) I've managed to make a decent number of posts, and kept up with curation.

If anything, I feel like I need more HP for curation; that way I can upvote more posts with a lower % vote, but the same value.

Hive Power

With it being HPUD, I bought and powered up 50 HIVE. My HP are still well and truly not hitting my goal, but it's the only target I'm missing right now. I think the solution to fixing it (assuming I don't win the lottery !) is to just keep plugging away for the long haul and aim to post more often in higher-earning communities.

One possibility is that I could switch from 50/50 HP/HBD rewards to 100% HP, but I kind of like stacking HBD. I might do it much further into the year for a while if I can get to 100% of my HBD target.

HBD

HBD itself continues to do well, and this week was boosted by finally getting back to earning over 30HBD interest each month. It was 30.10 HBD, so that counts ! Next up is to get to 40HBD interest each month, which means I'll need to be holding around 3324 HBD, and that's outside this year's targets !

Tribe Tokens

I can't help it, I keep on buying LEO and BBHO whenever I see a dip.

Sometimes I'll convert a little bit of my precious liquid HIVE to SWAP.HIVE, but mostly I go through all the dust tokens and ones I'm not interested in, turn them into SWAP.HIVE and use that to buy LEO or BBHO.

The way things are going, there's a serious risk I might hit my annual goals by around the beginning of March. D'oh !

Trading

My trading account hasn't done so much this week. I realised the model I'm using kind of grinds to a screeching halt is there's a sudden price adjustment in one way or the other. It works best when the price is zigzagging up and down in a relatively narrow range.

So in the meantime since the real goal is for that account to maximise growth without actively posting, I've set up a curation trail for it and started doing manual curation to use up the vote power down to around 75%. With low HP (just enough to power transactions), right now the benefit is minimal but over time it should compound up.

If you're not familiar with SaturdaySavers, it's a fabulous initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account, where we all support each other in getting to our savings goals.

If you are one of my friends reading this (or just someone who tripped over one of my posts), I really recommend this as a great community that's well worth joining.

I'm normally very disorganised about saving, and the support of the wonderful people in #SaturdaySavers has been invaluable in keeping me focused. I can honestly say that without it, my HP would probably be half what it is now.

So join ! You don't have to wait until the start of the year. The best time to start saving is ten years ago. The second best time is right now !
