Investment Club v.2021
by @altportal
This is for those of you still deciding whether to jump into the world of investing or not.
Decades ago, I was inspired by the Beardstown Ladies, who started their investment club during the mid-1980’s. It wasn’t so much about their earnings claims, but rather the structure of their club. Back in those days, trading wasn’t done online and was quite expensive. Even after I opened my first online trading account, it cost me ten dollars in both directions for trades.
That was a lot of money considering the small amount, I was investing at the time.
Nowadays, we have social hubs where people from all over the world can discuss investments, and of course trading is ridiculously cheap and in some cases *free. So, who needs a club to save money on trades?
Well, I still think it would be great to have a small group that meets to share their opinions and observations on this and other platforms. That's really helpful, but I still feel like a smaller control group of people to discuss.
Granted, I’m not sure how many people, I know would be ready for something like this, but the market is ready for you. The opportunities are far greater in the crypto space than they were 3 ½ years ago, when I moved in that direction, in my bullish opinion (must be my rising sign kicking in).
Don’t let these things stop you:
Lack of knowledge
Lack of funds
Lack of time
**The knowledge will come. **
There are a lot of videos online with specific focuses. Watch several of them.
The funds really aren’t necessary at the very beginning.
You’re still learning. And there are still ways to earn free cryptocurrency and stocks, for example.
**Time is relevant. **
If you spend thirty minutes a day running or walking, you could actually earn free crypto while doing so. And if you join an investment club nowadays, it’ll most likely be online, so pull up a chair and eat your lunch off camera while listening in.
The efforts will pay off.
What can an investment club do for me?
First off, there will always be some finance nerd, like me that knows some stuff. Perhaps not everything, but some stuff. And with online meetings and screen share, it makes everything so much easier to teach, share and learn.
**But, I don’t want to pool my money. **
Neither do I. The point of a good investment club in today’s environment is to share knowledge, but you make your decisions and investments on your own. It won’t be for financial advice, that you join. Leave that to the pros, when you can afford one. This type of club should be for educational, social and entertainment purposes.
