RE: It Isn't Even a Zero Sum Game

Conceivable, but... Since 100% of the cost of everything is energy, adding free energy will drop the costs, over time, to nothing. And when That happens They will have nothing to pay Others with to do dirty work.

Sort:

A person's brain power is energy, but not provided by adding free energy.
A person's time is another form of energy.

In the future, things will be made, by a group of highly spiritual people. Where they imagine the objects, and all of its properties and bring it down from thought into plasma and further down into the physical.

In the here and now, plants grow slowly. It takes time and attention to grow them well, even if it is mostly automated. In the future, we will put more energy (not electricity) into growing the plants bigger and faster.

Even if i can just press the button on the CNC machine, and have it mill a part, it isn't all machine time. There is a lot of setup i have to do, to the block of metal, to setting the bits, to making sure everything is zeroed. On top of that, the g-code came out of my head, from the designs in my head.

In the future there will be a lot more automation, but there is still a human component.

Well, humbly, the "highly spiritual People" manifesting things is a bit woo for Me.

What I should have clarified about the cost of everything being energy is that the resources sit here freely, but it takes energy to put them into useful configuration.  And when People add energy in scarcity, They want proof, else They may be seen as "skaters."

In the societies that emerged in abundance, where all One needed was there for the taking, no One was seen as a "skater," and no money was used.  The People did things for the social currencies:  thanks, appreciation, love, lauds, fame, and so on.  There was no poverty and the caring Ones took care of things, not the psychopaths controlling things as moneyed societies will see.

Ergo, add free energy (and automate the necessary work no One wants to do), and the point of money vanishes.  We, in this post-scarcity (no political baggage attached) time, can contribute as We love to do, fulfilling Our potential, rather than having to find some way to plug Our energy in to get the energy accounting tokens (money) to afford to live on Our planet, whether We love it, are bored with it, or downright hate it.

And this will free 80% of Us to help, to create, to explore.  Today, most of Us merely move money.
