The year 2021 may be coming to a close, but the falling prices of cryptocurrencies are not. Major crypto currencies continued their decline ahead of Friday's $6 billion contract expiry.
Not surprisingly, the price of Bitcoin went down after it hit a high just recently. The cryptocurrency is currently trading at $46K and may go even lower before hitting another peak in upcoming weeks or months! On Ethereum's side we see that while their value has sunk 4%, its volume has gone up 1%. This might mean people are waking up to how wonderful investing can be when they buy low-risk assets with potential.
Bitcoin dipped below $47,000 in the aftermath of its biggest sell-off this year.
The alternative Smart contract platform tokens including ALGO and NEAR have skyrocketed in recent weeks. With the exception of one, all others continue their upward trajectory currently at a rate much faster than before!
Cardano (ADA) is down by 7.83 per cent at $1.31, while Algorand which has been known as the Ethereum killer was surprisingly up in an otherwise bear market this week.
The crypto market continues to see significant losses. Binance Coin (BNB) is down 4%, while Solana fell even more.
Arcane Research recently published a market research report which said that it is possible for Ripple (XRP) and ADA to fall out of the top 10 crypto leaderboard in 2022. They also noted most meme tokens will eventually fade into obscurity..

There are two main reasons for this: firstly because cryptocurrencies have been around for such a short time compared to other financial markets; secondly there's already enough competition with Bitcoin leading all others in terms of popularity among investors who don't want any more upstarts taking their place at number 1 spot - especially if those newcomers offer nothing new!
