Exactly , should see how the APR goes after this . Right now we are getting good returns , this might boost it . Last 2 weeks I gave out 30% APR for CTP , this week maybe more .
Well if you check Hive - it is non-linear that means whoever votes first on the post gets larger curation rewards than who votes latter but in linear rewards no matter when you vote , you get fixed curation rewards .
In Leo , stem it is 50% curation rewards but in CTP it is 40% .
Yeah, I read about that somewhere. I prefer the fixed systems, but I know some people prefer the non-linear format. Just wondering why they prefer that hehe
Personally, fixed rewards is a lot better to me because I do manual curation and sometimes I find really good posts that are a bit "old"
Because they are not satisfied with 50% curation reward , with non-linear format if you vote early and if big votes come by later on then you earn more than 50% that's why .
As far as I have seen there has been no move in this direction yet but there has been discussions . I don't think this is on the top priority :( Which makes me sad .
That's what I was afraid of. There's a reason for that. I don't know if tribes are strong enough to have an influence on Hive devs in this regard, although there a re more and more adopting linear curation curve already.
I think so too , fixed returns are always better than predictable , speculative returns . I wish Hive shifted to linear too to be honest , it will help a lot of new users + even curators.
I am not sure Hive will ever make that move. However, we are now seeing it happen at the tribe level so there is that to the payouts. Plus some of the creators are making a lot more off the tribes.
I think the smaller guys make more off tribe tokens compared to posts payouts. Those small bits of tokens every now and then make it worth it commenting as well.
I still don't know who decides that though . I mean if it comes to tribes the tribe owners decides them , when it comes to Hive is it only the witnesses who gets to say?
Yes I like the linear curation curve and it makes it easier to get consistent rewards. No need to worry about getting there early to get more rewards.

From what I hear, many people seem to prefer a linear curation curve. I don't really know much about it but it seems a better option indeed.
But I was wondering if there is any upside to a non-linear curve... just out of curiosity

The linear rewards are a lot easier to explain to newer people. The present curation system is very difficult to understand.
The 5 minute window is expanding though.

I didn't get you. What do you mean by it? They are increasing it?

Ahh that makes sense now. Thanks!

To be honest , I have been here for considerable amount of time and I don't understand the non-linear rewards concept fully lol.

Yes, absolutely, I voted for yes. It's the right thing to do and I hope more tribes and Hive will follow!

Me too . I can't wait for hive to move to linear curation . It will change the whole ecosystem and engagement part.

Do you have any info about the matter? Do they plan to move to linear? I don't see a rush here.

You are so right . If tribes really had influence we would already see so many changes here on Hive . It's very unfortunate.

Good move on their part. It will really help.
