If i only had $5,000 i might only buy the top 5, or smaller amounts of the bottom five. These are all excellent projects having good/great use cases and potential huge price rises. Lethean, Eos and Verus (top 3) would be my top buys. Research and you will find out why.
Especially Lethean as #Matrix8 Community Governance implementation is planned, and because #SuperstarSnider @snider is Lead Dev!

Could do. i already have a bunch. The coins i would buy though (and i may swap some monero for some of them) are mostly privacy coins (not EOS, HIVE or LEO) but with better tech than xmr and vastly underpriced in comparison, imo.
You can buy most of them on tradeogre.com (avoid using criminal Binance).
Why EOS? I don’t trust Dan, why hasn’t it taken off after it went above 15 USD in 2018? I think the momentum is over…

if you wanna do da/shirt term trading, perhaps XMR could be good, but not good idea for beginners. After a year or so of extensive study and practice, you might win, but much mire likely you'll lose without religiously following very good advice, such as from D Man if Blockchainwhispers, and that takes a lot of work. You have to be on the ball, watching the Telegram channel. If you miss a sell signal by a few hours it could cost you dearly.

So, my advice is to do your research to study projects such as the ones i mention and D Man's signals, and if you like the use case, then buy and HODL. Play the long game, dont try to make a quick buck.
