A Little Shopping Situation

in LeoFinance21 days ago

This morning I went out to buy some bread in one of the stores within the Estate. The sun was scorching but I had to as breakfast depended on it. As I walked down the street, I saw the shop closest to me, run by a girl - let’s call her Chika. Chika is one of the worst people I have come across when it comes to customer service. I have never seen anyone slower or more frustrating.

I dealt with Chika by meeting her at her level. I accepted her for what she is and became more patient with her. I heard so many people complain about her until they would give up and stop shopping from her completely. And it is quite easy to stop patronizing her because they are several other shops in the estate where you can easily get what you want.

I eventually stopping shopping from Chika not only because of her lazy, laidback attitude, but because her items are often pricier than other stores’. Some 50, 100, 200 Naira differences here and there. And Chika’s store also has a standard 50 Naira charge for every transfer unlike other stores.

The last straw for me was buying a pack of cornflakes for 4800 Naira. I knew it was a lot but I had to buy it that night as it was already too late to seek other options. Like I mentioned earlier, she is closest to me and closes later than the others. I went to a different store on another day and saw the same cornflakes for 3000 Naira. I didn’t mind the minor 100-200 Naira differences but 1800 was just too much. I complained to her later and she said she’s merely following her boss’s instructions. That was it for me. I stopped going there and never looked back.

So today, I could have easily bought bread from Chika, but I took a longer walk to a much better store to get the bread. I decided I won't endure her anymore because I really don't have to.
