RE: Elon Musk Buying Disney Would Be A Great Move

in LeoFinance11 months ago

It is estimated that X has around 500 monthly active users.

Did you mean to say thousand or million?

I honestly don't think Disney is up for sale, particularly to Elon who has insulted the company at every opportunity, but I don't think Elon could actually afford Disney. Twitter has lost a significant percentage of its value since he took over, and as far as I know the revenue its taking in is a fraction of what it used to. He'd have to sell his shares in Tesla, which is already down 25% YTD and I imagine if he showed any interest in buying Disney $TSLA would dive on the news.

I'm not sure why Twitter would jump up from $12.5 billion to over $100 billion instantly. I don't think there is much overlap between Twitter customer and Disney customers at the moment.

Corrected. It has an estimated 500 million MAUs.

Disney is a public company. It is up to the shareholders to decide if they want to sell if an offer is made. Boards tend to not have a ton of shares. Institutions tend to own the large percentage of the shares and they can about the dollars offered.

You could be right. Elon might have no interest (even if he could get financing). But do not be surprised if he makes a move like this.
