Maybe its Murphys law, always my VP gets low I find those great posts I wished could give more?
But not following trails or auto I mostly manage to stop the day with roundabout 80% vp. And for exceptional good content there still exists the possibility to give out a vote in another way.

You're right, eccency points are another way to actually appreciate contents, but I rarely use it. I think I have done that especially when my votes percentage has drastically dropped. You're totally right. We mostly see great posts when our voting percentage has dropped a lot.
