Similar to what you have said Hive for me is a potential waiting to be unlocked. It has the potential to replace my need for a regular job. It has the potential to expand my airbnb business. It has the potential to being me closer to financial freedom. That said Hive I believe itself is still in its potential status. If we get additional 10k users that is already significant growth in hive standards but i am waiting for the day we get to 1 million users and break the mainstream which is very attainable compared to soc med giants.
