I was thinking about why I am so addicted to Hive and why I like it so much. And besides the great communities and people that you meet through the endeavors from this blockchain, I think that I like the most its simplicity to put the base cryptocurrencies at work. And here we are talking about Hive and Hive Dollar (HBD) cryptocurrencies. There are some sweet features embedded in the DNA of this blockchain that gets you started right away.
The base tokenomics are simple yet powerful. So let's see what I am talking about and what I appreciated the most.
- Hive can be kept liquid and traded on the internal market to Hive Dollar (HBD) which acts as a stablecoin on this blockchain. Thus you have the instruments to play the market and exchange between the assets when Hive moons (SELL) or when it falls (BUY). Simple as that!
- Secondary you can power up your HIVE into HIVE Power and use it to curate content all around the blogging communities built around it. You will get a portion of the curation back as rewards (usually 50%) and at the same time, your Hive Power increases at an APR of approximately 2.81% just because it's staked.
- Hive Dollar (HBD) can be deposited through one click into Savings for an interest rate of 12.00% APR (as voted by the Witnesses). You can withdraw HBD at any point with a 3-day cooling period, which is pretty fast in my opinion. And the best about Savings is the fact that each month the interest is auto-compounded thus it builds up periodically.
- The last reason I like it the best is because of the airdrops and this year we were blessed with the ones from Speak Network and Ragnarok. Grow the influence in the blockchain, earn more, and at the same time get sometimes more for your staking, simply cannot be better than this.
These are the main reasons I like the simplicity of Hive blockchain through all these amazing features for base layers and the ease you can act on them. Probably this got me to some sort of addiction as whenever I get HIVE or HBD rewards from content creation and curation, I simply power them up or throw them into Savings. It is so easy to build up here that you simply cannot stop once you started. But at some point when you reach a significant stake in both assets, you will look back and you will realize it was all worth it!
So there you have it, I like HIVE for its simplicity to put cryptocurrencies at work right away.
