Decentralizing the future

We live in a world where a handful of individuals/companies control a vast majority of resources. Whether it's the government or mega corporations, there's little room for anybody to get inside.

In today's society, information is one of the most important resources. In the wrong hands, information is power and control over the population.

Information controls the narrative, the minds and psyche of the population. So controlling the flow of information is a huge factor in determining how the population feels.

Who controls you?

If information is power then power belongs to the controllers. The mega corporations like Facebook and Apple are our masters.

Every now and then I often wonder if my feelings about society are truly mine or something that was put in there by the manipulated narratives. I wonder if I truly like what I like or I just think I like what I like because Google tells me so.

When you're pissed off or happy about an event, is it real or is it make believe? Was the coverage of the event properly tailored to ensure your emotional response or do you genuinely connect with it.

These mega corporations have surreptitiously implanted themselves into our lives, making us dependent on their services. Ironically, in the process of using the service, our information is syphoned, analyzed and in turn, used to ensure that we're still dependent on them.

Honestly, I'm not mad at the mega corporations. They created a scheme, got government backing and turned virtually the entire human race into overly dependent bots with a "unified" view of reasoning.

The concept of identity is slowly being etched away because the media controls whatever you think. You're either this or that, and if you disagree, you're not allowed to exist because that's what Google says.

Let's face it, these big corporations have created a robust and efficient system that can't be defeated externally. The only hope is internal sabotage and that is unlikely, because they also recruit the best heads to ensure the status quo is maintained.

A decentralized future

Antagonizing the mega corporations is pointless because at the end of the day, you'll still fall back on them. You're going to be using an Apple, Android or Microsoft device to compose your scathing thoughts.

Mega corporations are inevitable and until an alternative that offers similar quality comes around, we have no choice. However, instead of fighting them, what if we find a way to work around them.

What if we create decentralized suites that have the capacity to offer value to users, instead of taking away value.

Hive offers a decentralized social media experience and it is evolving every day. What if we create decentralized operational software for phones and computers that take our data but returns value to the users.

Bitcoin lit the fuse that heralded the decentralized movement and now, with hundreds of Blockchain projects in existence, we have the opportunity to create a world with better distribution of resources through decentralization.

In summary

The question is how do we get from where we are to where we want to be?

How do we, like the mega corporations, make people realise that they deserve to get more value from their data. How do we surreptitiously seep into the lives of the population and give them a product that they connect with.

We can't compete with mega corporations but there's nothing stopping us from using their tricks in our favour. If you can't beat them, join them and also remember that modern problems require modern solutions.

Out of websites like this, there're still people who misunderstand the cryptocurrencies as a fully planified scam/ponzi scheme, just because there are scammers in the crypto-world too. And they think the decentralised future is completely destructive and fatal (I have read posts like that in sites like DeviantArt).
I think we must highlight that cryptocurrencies are 100% safe if we use it for good.
If there're people with bad intentions like scam or infringe copyrighted material using NFT, then the bad are those misuses of cryptos, not the cryptos themselves.

Well they have a point, they’re not 100% safe. But nothing is, that’s why DYOR is so important

Thank you for the info 😊. I didn't know about DYOR. I must research more about this topic because there're still things I don't know ^^

Need to DYOR on DYOR :) how very meta

Bring on the decentralized future!

Although you want to fight with big corporations that even influence our thought process to some extent, you cannot do much because of not having alternatives. Things may change in the future.

What blockchain enables us is to enjoy freedom. In the future, we may have alternatives in the blockchain. For example, Hive has already made a difference. We will have more opportunities and that will let us free from the centralized control.

Wow! At first, I didnt get the concept you were trying to pass across. The effect the big companies/men have over us indirectly through their products and influence..still portrays centralization. Now, I see the importance of decentralization in our new world to come! @belemo
