I've never considered myself a skilled trader because I don't have the patience to look at charts. I've taken a few classes along the way but I could never bring myself to be excellent at it.
Even though I lack the patience and skill to excel at trading, I still dabble with easier forms of trading. The easiest of the lot is the NFT market and navigating it is a lot easier than most other markets.
The only problem with NFT trading is the distinct lack of liquidity in the market that ensures that your asset spends a shit ton of time in the market before it gets sold. If you want to sell early, you have to undercut the market rate and since there's no actual market rate, it just means you have to seek it for as cheap as possible.
Sometimes things work out but most times, I always feel like I'm selling my asset for lower than it deserves. The painful part is that you then get to see the buyer list it at a higher price but alas, that's the game, and you have to learn contentment.
I can't even find my punks
As if trading NFT isn't difficult enough, I've had to suffer the pain of locating my punks in a very quiet but filled-up Punk market.
I had a total of 9 punks that I listed on the market but right now, I'm having difficulties finding them in the market.
I think the price I listed them was too high, so I want to reduce it, but like I said, finding them is proving to be a chore. I think the punk site needs a couple more features that enable me to locate my Punks. Also, let's assume I'm too dumb to access all those backend features of hive to locate them.
I'd be so glad if my punks could sell for a couple of thousand Hive. It will aid my cause and bring me much closer to my target.
The punks I have aren't so rare but they're pretty cool. I have one that's a programmer with rarity 220 but it seems cooler than the other punks. I listed it for about 200 Hive because that's the price range of punks of that rarity. I keep wondering what I have to do to actually sell a punk.
More Chaos
So far so good, I've accumulated 53 Chaos legion packs, so that amounts to a total of 265 monsters. The information I've gotten is that the packs can start to be opened by the 8th of December.
With so much excitement about Chaos packs, I suspect that things are going to get a little bit crazy that day. I fully expect the network to be smashed.
I'm excited about opening packs but I don't think I'll be opening all of them at once. I'd like to hold some towards the SPS airdrop and until further notice.
If Untamed, Dice, and Beta packs have proved anything, it's that in one year's time, Chaos Legion packs could be trading for as high as $50 a piece. I got my packs at an average of $8 a pack, so assuming I manage to hold 20 of them for a year, that's going to be easy $840.
It's all wishful thinking because nothing is set in stone and also because I could get very excited and just open them all. Although based on the information I've gotten, after the second voucher drop and when vouchers are no longer needed to buy CL packs, I'll buy even more CL packs.
Also, it is rather fascinating to note that Splinterlands no longer uses that its imaginary peg where 1K Dec is assumed to be $1. For CL packs, the price of the pack will be based on the market value of DEC tokens.
In the past, Untamed packs had a flat rate and then some discounts based on your Guild. CL packs will be sold at around 400DEC, and based on the printing rate of DEC, as well as the high demand for those packs, it's safe to say that they'll be selling out within a week.
Keep in mind that DEC or SPS used to buy packs in-game is burned. Meaning the price of tokens won't really take a beating. In fact, it's possible that there might be an increase in the demand for those tokens.
So in essence, it's going to be chaotic and you just have to grab as much as you can. In fact, I reckon that the price of DEC and SPS took a slight high yesterday because people are stacking cash to ape into CL packs.
Also, the Splinterlands ecosystem looks to be constantly growing, and with that comes more competition for resources. For example, there's not enough land for everyone and monsters are in high demand.
This means that the release of Chaos legion, coupled with multiple media publications and hype from around the internet points to another period of plenty in Splinterlands.
Chaos legion monsters will be gobbled up, the more smart money will troop in, and talks about the Splinterlands metaverse will become louder. It's as I've always said, if you get in now, you're not late.

Yeah searching Punks listed in Market is a pain. They should add some sorting feature.

Do take in consideration that I think we still need vouchers to buy CL packs with after 8th of dec as well (although I am not entirely sure) which would kill a bit of my buy packs with DEC strategy as well
Keep building. Things are really moving. Perhaps, if you cant find your punks, you will get lucky and the market will move up to you.

DEC/SPS used to buy packs is not burned but revenue stream for splinterlands. But Splinterlands won't be dumping this in market so we can assume that most of this went out of supply.
