about the building and support that you mentioned. There is some in the big account support in adopting the app, but there is some in people being used to things, so the new app needs to be so much better to get people using it. And the overall number of people plays the part if the app is a niche.
at least from my point of view. i am mostly using peakd, because i am using it from day one and have everything set up, and they did implement some things that are useful for me. i could use Ecency, they have their points system, or use leofinance... I kinda like the Liketu and could most probably expect more upvotes because of using the app, but for longer for i will still use Peakd because i like the formatting more.
i never got into the CTP, i do click on veews sometimes, but i stick to peakd (with no real background benefit).
i think the same battle will be with the new chat system, it is great, could replace discord for hive communities, but it will be a long process to get people using it.
