Funny how I have seen history repeat itself so many times with technology in my life time. Movie industry fought like hell to outlaw video rental stores like Blockbuster. MPAA thought they video rental would kill their profits. Once they embraced video rental, they realized it literally doubled the profit of a movie after it was released. Blockbuster had the chance to buy out Netflix for 50 million dollars but refused because it will kill their late fee business practices. By the time they embraced online rentals and streaming movies, it was too late for them. Music Industry went through something similar with Napster and online music streaming.
New technology comes out. The people that stand to lose money try to destroy it. Realize they can make more money embracing it. And the cycle repeats itself.
