Money talks in this world and this guy keeps gobbling up assets and turning out fuel to keep going. I think showing him as a virus and how a virus works is spot on and every time you think he's done and over with he's on to the next.

A virus… moves in, gets you to stop making everything you need to live, and focus on make more copies of themselves until your cell bursts wide open, and then they move on…
Definite similarities there, except we moved on instead.
