Do they do it with other UIs as well or just inleo? For example are ecency links hijacked and converted to peakd links? If that's the case I think I'm ok with it to each their own with their platform. If it's just one UI they are doing it to that's a issue for sure.

That is a common practice. Ecency does the same thing and have been like this for a while.
It's about not disrupting the reader experience. If I'm logged into peakd and I suddenly get redirected to inleo that will be horrible experience. I'm not even logged in there.
Not sure if they do it for all
But even if they do, how is that okay?
They’re stealing canonical authority to search engines
They’re also auto-converting and censoring user inputted text
Imagine if they one day decided they didn’t like the word “steem” or “Leo” or “Kamala Harris”
They could single-handledly censor and change those words inside of posts that user’s chose to have there
My belief is that user inputted text should not be changed from what the user chose to be there. They chose it for a reason
It's an issue in that sense for sure. But it's also up to them as the developer of the platform to run it how they want. It's then up to the user to use the front facing UI they want. Users should however be aware and educated on what's happening. At least that's my belief because it's always going to happen but being informed and making choices yourself is always going to win IMO. This would also go to the level of DHF funding in where people simply are not educated and just proxy their vote or vote because someone else told them to. Making the voting process rather wild and kind of dumb. It's great in theory but in human practice 90% of people are just not going to care and will go on with their day. I'm not part of that 90% but I realize a vast majority are.
