I seriously loved using a VPN today but it has it's down sides in terms of some websites blocking you outright from using it to some sites not loading. Would love to be able to use on 24/7 and not run into such issues.

Sort:

What do you guys use them for?

I use mine to dodge some restrictive local gambling laws.

But I get caught with a lot of streaming content I paid for being geoblocked outside of Aus, so have to constantly flick it on and off.

Proton simply because it came with the upgrade I needed there for email lol

I like proton. I have cyberghost though, and it's way better. On my phone , I've been using Google VPN which seems counter-intuitive but hey... I'm dumb enough to use it.

sweetness I'll have to give it a good look over tomorrow.

Is this the non-free tier of protonmail?

yep needed the GBs in email for work stuff

I just like the idea that it makes all my shit more private. no one needs to see my wild search history of feet, shitcoins, and other degenerate things. also in Minecraft it lets you use websites that the US hates like anything fun

I always wonder if I'm passed worrying about privacy because all my shit is out there now (and needs to be if I want to be a member of society haha).

Do I need to commit 100% to a life on anon?

I dunno, I'm already semi doxxed so there's not really much privacy on that front. I think more about privacy of my crypto stuff, finance, and things like that being less out there. The idea of privacy is nice lol

I also don't think I'm smart enough to be 100% anon. That takes some level of intellect that I do not possess

Haha same. -sighhhh.

I get that its part of a stake weighted system, but even how our HIVE and LEO stacks are out there, probably isn't ideal long term.

maybe a cool feature for Leo would be to have the option to "hide" your wallet on the UI. Obviously anyone could check on chain. But I think people would like that option

I use a VPN about 90% of the time

I could see myself using it 90% as well but that other 10% is a pain lol. Need to somehow split those things up and only do them at certain times maybe.

well, it's actually become second nature for me. it's a quick setting on my phone so turning it off is one click. on desktop, it's basically always on.

The only time I need to turn mine off is to access certain apps and paying local utility bills. Other than that, I don't usually run into situations where I need to turn it off, and if a site is blocking then probably not worth reading🙃

Yeah, I do encounter some websites that blocks the outright. But using VPN is pretty cool most times.
