Why Onboarding Now Is More Critical Than Ever

Over the last 24-48 hours we have seen massive rallies in Hive. It feels like just yesterday that Hive was $0.14 and Leo was $0.20. Today we are faced with this...

While LEO has taken a bit of a dip recently what you really should focus on is HIVE. What's triggering this?

A number of things...

#1 More People > More Demand > Same Supply
hive.jpg

As more people start using hive and seeing the benefits of it the more usecases get developed. The more Hive gets staked and the wealth moves around to more people. DON'T be stingy with your upvotes!!
If you believe in a project or believe what someone wrote holds good quality to you and perhaps others then it most likely is worth a bit of your vote. The more this is spread around the better.

How long do you think someone will write good quality articles and try and help a platform and stick around if every day they get 10 small votes when their content is really worth much more. Take some time each day and try and find new people to engage with and support no matter if your vote is small or large it all counts!

Key Takeaways

  • Engage with comments of value
  • Spread your voting power on projects and people you believe are brining value

#2 Some weird projects
and odd ways to try and get HBD to stick to a $1 peg. I don't agree with a lot of what's going on right now to try and stabilize HBD but I only hold so much weight and voiced my opinion with a vote of no vote which all you can do. In any case what this is doing is helping to drive up the price of Hive. However to me the way it's being done seems a little manipulative and honestly just a weird way to go about trying to fix the issue that has been around since Hive/Steem were born. To me I would vote fix it at the core and stop throwing random money at it. I might catch some flack for this section of the post but I'm ok with that. We all have our own opinions and views and having healthy discussions about it is important and seeing others viewpoints. It leads to understanding, innovation and new ideas. So if someone would care to drop the other side of this in a comment in a constructive way I'd love to hear it!

The old saying goes
"Throwing money at problems never solved anything!"

#3 Tokens / Development / DeFi and more
While most tokens on this platform are simply a cookie cutter version of Hive itself there are some that have developed and become powerhouses in themselves.

Of course the one that sticks out to me most is LEOFinance.
With the recent launch of CubDeFi.com it's brought a lot of new eyes on Leo but also Hive in itself. While they aren't directly tied they do hold enough of a tie together that they support each other. People from Hive find their way to LeoFinance and people from LeoFinance and their continued Suite of platforms such as CubDeFi and many more in the works brings new eyes to Hive.

It wont be 100% but every little bit counts and is effective.
I'll drop another old saying on you that many of you can relate to for running your own business.

"I would rather earn 1% off 100 people's efforts than 100% of my own efforts." John D Rockefeller

What that means is by setting up these systems as Leo is doing it does take a lot of upfront time, costs and continued production. However once it's running and the engines are turning you shift quickly form doing 100% of the work yourself to freeing that up to others.

Every new platform that gets launched such as CubDefi and ProjectBlank are ways to have others help promote LEO and Hive in general. It brings new awareness to the platforms and it's doing so off of others efforts who are using these platforms.

Other communities that come to mind are BroFi and CTP. Building community is critical and important. However with doing so you need to understand that your community needs to be open and welcoming to others even if they have other views. Of course if they are destructive views they should be removed! People naturally want to feel and be a part of something.

leoline.png

This brings me to the end all of why right now is more critical than ever before to on board and welcome these new people to the platform. When they become a part of it they will trust, believe, bring ideas, development and further tell others about the platform as well. Devote some time to exploring and hunting out new worthy content each day and drop it an upvote and/or comment.

Now they see what HIVE is! LOL
But, I hope that other people with strong influences will not overpower this platform, because it is the bread and butter of other lowly people.

It will take time to shift things. Because of LEO and Hive both being so small for so long there's going to be a few people that hold a majority stake. However many of them are actually very good at spreading the love and upvoting quality. Many see the benefits of doing so and how it will grow the entire system. However that also means it doesn't take all that much $$$ To become a whale here. So the more spread and more people the better the platform becomes overall.

I agree with you! (^^)
Very soon, I am going to make an Animation explanation about Leofinance in my language! Mix with English! Of course, with an English Subtitles! (^

I signed up via LEO and the account setup was super easy, and will say the welcome so far has been good. I was surprised with the amount of votes I have received and feel like the LEO community has really done well with placing an emphasis on curation. While my posts are not as polished as others, I am trying to make higher quality posts.

Comments is where I am weakest, I struggle to make worthwhile comments on 25% of the posts I read- and want to grow the comments left on my own posts.

Life before Leo onboarding was rough lol, it's a better more simple process now which is how I bring people into LEO and Hive. I've tried a few of the other options but LEO still takes the cake in this area for onboarding new people.

You'll get there with your posts, mine are not as polished as I would like and some days I just don't feel like putting as much effort into the formatting as others. We are all human. Welcome to the community!

I got onboard on Steemit Platform in the end of 2017 and I was really positive because I know this platform was going to stay but Indian Government was not sure, Our Finance Minister make every Cryptocurrency Trade in India Illegal. My friends started joking and making fun out of me because I always tell them to join these platforms but they were dicy. Now our new finance minister took one step ahead and placed a New Cryptocurrency Bill on table of Parliament. Now I am really positive that in the near future there is a Bull Run :)

I do hope that is the case. I believe people should own and do what they want with what they have. Now of course if you make a mistake you should pay for that mistake and not someone else to bail you out. Thats one of the biggest pitfalls here in America is bailing people out all the time and not holding them accountable.

Yup, we have to continue supporting the next wave of people coming on board so they can help support the wave after that and the wave after that, etc.... As the platform grows, there will be more and more people looking for that support and encouragement. That means we need more and more healthy token holders to actively spread that support around. It really is true, when one of us does better, we all do better. That's why this is such a great place to be.

I can remember coming into HIve for the first time years ago and trying to figure it out. It's honestly a brand new thing to many and we should remember what it was like when we first showed up to the platform and how we felt. Support others now and they will most likely support you in return and remember you for it.

Open the floodgates let them in, I wish we could have that steem peak again of 250k users it was nuts! It also shows how little it takes to pump this coin to the moon!

It could come with time. Hive and LEO are seriously small when you look at the number of users. It has HUGE potential and room for growth. With crypto though Money speaks volumes and people chase it. With our rallies and now moving up the leaderboards it's going to start attracting a lot of attention and new people. It's going to be important to support those using the platform right, answering questions and offering helping with some feel stuck or confused.

It's important to retain new people. If we could 10x our active user base shit would get serious very fast.
I'm also seeing some returning faces which is great as OG crypto users are more likely to jump back in with funds and no learning curve.

Yep $$$ Value will always bring people around lol large portion of the population chases after rallies instead of being on the ground floor of them. We are all in a unique and powerful spot to help LEO and Hive grow and grow correctly. You might not think it but each vote you do shapes how this platform will be used. Do we reward spammers and low quality or do we value quality content.

Good post, you are right, we are the ones in charge of growing the platform, and in the end the benefits are for everyone

By owning LEO tokens or HIVE it's in your best interest to support the platform and good quality to help further boost the price of what you currently hold and will hold. You are a partner/investor into the platform by holding it.

What do I know, many feel only a few people are entitled to their vote yet they talk about the fact that circle jerking is bad. Thats circle jerking pro Max to to me. But then everyday I move to finding more people to support even though my upvote is tiny.

Keep posting quality and brining value and the votes will come. Those who have the most right now either invested early with their own money and time which is a huge risk. Might not seem like it but a year ago would you have bought LEO or even HIVE.
