Welcome to a Lazy Saturday post
Things got a bit crazy recently I been down with back pain issues and have been slacking trying to heal up, but I am feeling much better and more hungry than ever!
I been wanting to do big things for the hive ecosystem for a long time I was hoping one day folks would start calling me the hiveman.
I onboarded @bulliontools from X about 2 months ago and very early on I recognized that he was a natural, I suspect his background and past experiences really align with being successful on hive and he saw all this untapped potential that hive has to offer.
I suspect that in a few years he will be a very prominent player in the hive-o-sphere, this HOC business is a prime example, he may end up being called the hiveman, worst case at lease I introduced the hiveman to hive 🤣
@bulliontools naturally found a great home on hive with the @silvergoldstackers community that I am also a proud members of, that also contributed to his success and this is going to be a bulk of the focus with our onboarding initiative, helping new users find their tribe on hive.
HOC ?
The Hive Onboarding Committee a recently launched hive community that me an @bulliontools are spearheading, to be honest I am pretty sure he had things like this in mind fairly early after joining hive talking about making it easier to onboard people on to hive in the silvergoldstackers discord.
Well the top bro really sparked some flames and has been showing a lot of support making announcements in the bro discord and making a post in the mancave link here
A little while back @trumpman gave me some $BRO tokens, what a doll and since I picked up a fair bit more and after my recent interaction with Raymonspeaks and everything he has done so far for the HOC, my faith in my $BRO bag is bigger than ever, gonna have to grab some more of that 💪
The HOC is here to grow hive by onboarding users and focusing on retention this is good for everyone here we got some ideas but we are open and appreciate any support you are willing to offer us with the great endeavor.
Me and @bulliontools as well as any other admins and more established users will not be rewarded financially directly from the HOC we are gonna hope the hive gods bless us for our good deeds and efforts 🤣

it was a good effort and onboarding was a part of it but it didn't really pan out, we maybe saying goodbye HGI but HOC is taking us in the sky, it's like a phoenix rising or some shit 🤣

The Fumble

Thanks for the shout-out! Yes, @theterminal has been helping educate users to the workings & etiquette of the blockchain since 2018. The only difference is that @theterminal doesn't really "onboard" people, per se, other than helping folks get an account if they're having trouble. Our work begins after they have been on-boarded by someone and then have no clue how to get started, what the etiquette of the blockchain expects of them, and how to do basic things (PowerUp, use correct tags, find communities, delegate, undelegate, buy/sell tokens, and so forth). 🙂

Great initiative guys! Having onboarded several people like @adacardano or @edina76 myself I know how important guidance and assistance is in the beginning. We need more automated help and more intuitive understanding of Hive and its processes to make it more usable by mainstream.

You are really doing a great job, as a new user on hive I will say you guys are providing good solution. Joining hive few days I will say it was very hard coming on board because the boarding process is complex.
The major challenge right now for me is about getting much support on this platform. Without support on this platform you will be discourage. I will advice you guys work on this so new users may stay.
Lastly I will advice hive should introduce rewarding system for helping onboarding new user.

Would love to talk more about all this , I think I will try reaching out to hive watchers and try to establish some common ground, we also have things in mind to reduce abuse especially with us just starting out and having little to no financial backing it's important for us to use our resources wisely
