Personally, I think that BTC can serve as a currency in the practical sense since we manage satoshis. But in terms of whole units we can only see it as investment. At least that's what I think about that topic.
If it didn't have the Fees problem I would've said yes, but the fees alientates a lot of users including me, and Lightening isn't a sufficient solution in my opinion.
BCH doesn't have that problem and I think it's more practical.
