I wouldn't say bad actors. They were very expensive lessons. But tbh, there's nothing you can do when you are faced with such a situation. It's not in your control.
Like the entire bust situation, there was exactly 0 I could do about it. Even after trying the legal route. At the end it only drove me to do more.
