In the end, we most likely have hundreds of thousands of ghost transactions taking place.
Of course, but probably this situation is valid for everyone, not just for Hive. As you say, it is good to enjoy the position in that ranking.
Sometimes perception is all that matters.
Many successful activities have been based on this. People do not look too deep, they do not have time or desire, they are satisfied with the perception and if it is favorable for Hive, it is good.
When I saw the number of comments in your example exceeding 7,000 I was shocked. I haven't seen a post in almost four years that has more than a few hundred, so I think, I don't remember well.
For me, the number of comments was an indicator of the level of activity and success. I thought that on a platform where hundreds of thousands of people are active, there must be a few posts that attract the attention of at least 1% of the active members. Even if their attention is dissipated, it must exist such important topics as to attract a certain percentage of comments.
I think many (of the few who are active there) have the perception that success (still delayed) is near. There is an application based on Steemit, in which even @onealfa is active and which probably has a big stake, it's called Appics. It wants to be a kind of Instagram. I don't know how many are active, but when I know that the application has been working for several years and when posting the most important ones, CEO and all kinds of "ambassadors", I don't see more than 150-300 votes (and I think I'm exaggerating with 300). .. then how can it ever get close to Instagram (I give the example not because I like Instagram, no, I left it 4 years ago, as with Facebook, when I joined Steemit, but it is a landmark).

Yeah even youtube videos that are up years and get millions of views dont have 7,000 comments.

Of course, that's why I was shocked, but I didn't immediately think that it couldn't be like that. I thought someone found the magic formula for such high visibility.
I was pleased when you showed that it is a mistake, maybe paradoxically, but I prefer to have the right information. Thanks!

Yeah something screwy with what is taking place.
It would be great to have thousands of comments per post. But we have to get to hundreds first. LOL

Correct! We want hundreds of comments but probably if that happens we wouldn't even have time to read them all and I don't think anyone will answer them all.
Instead, I think it will be an interesting phenomenon. I think that these hundreds of comments will turn into a kind of chat and the commentators will interact with each other, they will comment on the comments. I would like to see this, at least for you, who are in the top ten in the comments received.

The thread would be enormous.
You are right, it would take hours to get to the bottom.
