Selling Gold, why I am taking profits

1/2 ounce Maple Leaf

The 1/2 oz Maple Leaf Gold Coin is a high-purity bullion coin produced by the Royal Canadian Mint. Made from 99.99% pure gold, it features the iconic maple leaf design on the reverse and a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in this case. With a face value of 20 Canadian dollars, it’s a trusted investment piece known for its quality, security features, and global recognition.

Why I am selling

I bought this coin about 9 years ago when Gold was trading at about $1100 per ounce. Today Gold is at about $3450, which is a 3x. For me this is time to sell. +200% within less than a decade is a great return for this asset. Gold price has had a great run, especially the past two years.

Another reason for wanting to cash in the profit is, that I do not expect Gold to run like this much further. The price is going parabolic now and that is a sign of oveeheating. Be cautious when others are greedy is Buffetts Evergreen and it applies here as well. A correction is getting more and more likely imo and this could lead to much lower prices over the coming 1-3 years.

Already a good trade! Congratulations on your profits.

Thanks Jane!

Good trade!

I also sold a few gold items this spring and will probably sell the rest.

Smart move cashing in on that Maple Leaf! 🍁 Gotta take those profits when you can. 🚀

🤝🏻😋

Beautiful coin, gold had quite a rally recently, think in the long run, gold will do great, however could be overtaken by Bitcoin eventually.

Tru dat

"Interesting perspective on gold. Do you think the price could still go higher, or is now truly the peak for this cycle?"

Could still go higher but the air is getting thinner for this cycle.

This means you’ve gotten times three of your money
What an investment!

You did the right thing, if you are getting a good price for gold then Sell it and also buy some other things which you think are right
