One thing about Whatsapp, Telegram, etc. compared to emails is the indeed the feeling of a hurry. Maybe because people can see when you are online or if the message is read. Of course, this can be changed but I still have that subconscious feeling in the back of my head while using those.
With emails, it's more laid back cos you can't tell if it's read. Or can you? 😅 That's why I don't add my bosses to contacts on TG and others a like,

Emails do have things like read receipts that you can enable for specific mails. I don't really know how many people actually do that though.
