That's exactly what happened to me many times. Now that I'm acquiring GameFi & RWA tokens I've seen myself underestimating their pumps (and dumps). When they go, they really go and sometimes it's better to leave the the trigger alone. I mean, a $10 can turn into $30 within a week so why stop at $12.
