What you just described is pretty far from the web3 ideal or at least from how I've envisioned it. Sure, I have criticized both Splinterlands and Inleo but I've always tried to be constructive cos I really like both of them and can see huge potential in them.

When these Hive whales create these proposals to secure their own gains, it's just plain wrong. Them constantly trying to rug pull projects many have worked very hard for makes me a bit sick. 'Status quo' describes very well where Hive is at the moment and that's sad cos there would be so much potential.

I've recently started to think if web3 is such a great idea after idea after all. These kinda things can happen if certain people have too much voting power and then the whole thing becomes Soviet Union 2.0.

Sort:

the counter argument is....just buy more Hive to have more influence....but that doesnt work.

for one, we all dont have endless deep pockets but we do invest our time and passion here. but the big reason...most of these OGs ninja mined their stake. never invested a penny into getting it, and the amount they earn weekly just by curation and interest....

I would have to work my butt of for a hundred years to get where most of them are.

this is not decentralization. this is, like you said....2.0 under the sheeps clothing of 3.0

That's pretty interesting! I never knew HIVE was mined. So, now they just sit on the chest but I wonder what their vision of Hive's future is, or was.

Maybe that doesn't matter anymore since they found the golden goose.

golden goose for sure. they dont have to do a thing, just sit on it and dictate what gets support and what doesnt

Crazy. Sad. 😫
