Indeed. Although my guess is he's after the natural resources. But I'm not convinced the people of Greenland wanna play ball as they likely know how indigenous people in US were treated.
I watched an interview with a Greenlander, indigenous. They aren't doing any better with Denmark. They are being subsidized, but no investment. In the interview he said they'd prefer to join the US or Canada as they have better cultural ties (indigenous). They just want things to improve.
Cultural ties... yeah, that guy might going to his mind once their resources are exploited. Denmark actually pays a lot of money yearly to support Greenland and they are not exploiting Greenlands natural resources.
I'd say to Greenlanders that grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence and it's always better to be sided with an European nation, especially with a Nordic country, than with anybody else.
