I was just taking a look at ThorYield! Didn't saw that view there, probably cos I have no postions yet. Thanks for the tips!

One question though, just read that the IL Protection is no longer available since last February, so is this something to take into considerations? I understand the impermanent loss concept but trying to figure out the possible impact.

Sort:

IL can be a big problem. Especially with a token pair that has a big difference in price movement. This is often the case with stablecoins, for example. The latter is usually always somewhere near 1USD, whereas RUNE can skyrocket. If RUNE grows very fast without accumulating enough token exchange fees in a given LP, the IL will be quite large. But I don't have an exact quantification of that.

Yeah, USDT-RUNE pair has a very good APR but because of the potentially huge IL I feel cautious about it. Been thinking about the LTC-RUNE pair, low fees when creating the pair but then again, we are also earning those fees so I'm thinking the rewards aren't that big as with some other pairs? Even though the APR is relatively good. A bit confused with this one.

As for IL, LTC has potential to grow too of course but RUNE has more of that skyrocketing potential and in that case LTC would unlikely follow and there would be IL impact..

Yes, there would be IL, but if you have LTC-RUNE pair for a long period of time (even 2 years could not be enough) the IL should go close to zero...

That would probably mitigate it, yes. Also, I think there some culculators that let enter the entry price, predicted prices, etc. Damn, so tempting! 😅
