The good thing about this escalating is that it would perhaps offer Ukraine a good time window to move forward with their counter-attacks.

Ukraine was offered peace talks. They turned it down. The next line of Russians after Putin arent going to be restrained. The neocons in the US are going to learn what happens. It is not going to be pretty.
I'm sure Ukraine will be ready for peace talks once they've regained the lost territory and driven the enemy back across the border. After that, hopefully, Ukraine will strengthen its defense if the other guys will have similar thoughts.
