Weird World of Meme Coins: $SPX, $GOAT, $WIF

If you have been active in the X crypto space lately, you could not have avoided the "AI & Meme coins are gonna be the top narratives" posts. AI is a sector I've been focusing on before but on the other hand, the meme coin scene is a little uncharted territory for me and my research.

That being said, throughout the years of ups and downs I have learned that with crypto, it's often better to just suck it up and just ride the trend wave constantly researching and learning.

With meme coins, you must adjust your mindset to a new frequency. It's like entering into the opposite world. Something with a clear use case, or a project aiming to make the world a better place might not be the horse you want to bet on. Instead, wacky is good, and crazy is even better.

So, let's take a look at a couple of my meme coin picks.

SPX6900

Seriously, my small but growing meme coin bag was starting to look like Noah's Ark with dogs, cats, and baby hippos. Therefore I thought it would be a good idea to diversify a little with something that is not an animal and because of that, would stand out in the market full of hundreds of our four-legged friends.

Born as a parody of the S&P 500 index, SPX6900 was launched over a year ago but has just recently gained more attention. What appeals to me in this one is the not-so-serious take on the financial world. To better grasp the idea of what I mean by this, I suggest checking out their crazy website with all the funny made-up finance news and videos.

If you have been deep in the trenches of crypto, you know that sometimes all you can do is laugh about it. SPX6900 stands out among animal-themed coins as an idea that can be stretched even further to brighten up those gloomy crypto days.

The price of $SPX is currently down a bit from when I added it to my portfolio. Today it touched the support level again and showed signs of recovery. Expecting more volatility.

GOAT

As I mentioned, "AI + meme coins" is a phrase I keep bumping into frequently. Now, what if there was a meme coin touching both of the surfaces and even adding religion to it?

Well, there is. Goatseus Maximus, is a weird phenomenon in the crypto space that has gained a lot of attention recently. What makes it unique is the fact that it was created by an AI agent making it the first of its kind.

Indeed, it's a strange development and as a narrative, a very interesting one that could send waves far away. If you wish to find more information on how $GOAT came to be, I already linked their X account above, and also, if the picture below still leaves you confused, I suggest reading this awesome thread about the subject by X user @redphonecrypto.

I bought $GOAT at 0.4094 so at the moment I am a little bit in profit even though I wouldn't be surprised if it dropped way below that before moving higher again. $GOAT price has been in steady upside movement ever since its launch and I'm pretty sure investors will start to take profit soon.

Perhaps this wasn't the best entry but $GOAT was just too good, or crazy, opportunity to miss!

WIF

Back to the "normal" memes!

I never would have thought I'd say this but it's interesting how meme coins such as $WIF start to feel somewhat blue chip coins at this point. The same applies to $DOGE, $SHIB, and $PEPE. In a crazy meme coin scene, these have become more and more trusted. By this I mean I can buy a $WIF dip knowing it'll bounce back with the market or more specifically, with $SOL. They've become household names.

With more unknown, freshly launched meme coins, investing in them is more like gambling, and that good buy opportunity, that dip, could very well be the beginning of the end.

It's different with coins such as $WIF. Not long ago I rotated some of the airdrop earnings from TON to $WIF when its price was $1.20. It now stands at $2.60 so most of my $WIF has 2X:d in a short time. I felt pretty confident while making this trade because I had been following WIF prices for a while. It usually correlates with $SOL so that when SOL goes up, WIF goes up even more. This of course applies to downward movement as well.

I'm pretty sure WIF will do well in the upcoming alt season and I have set my target around $8 to $10. If the whole meme coin sector gets too diluted now that even AI is creating coins, this could be a little too optimistic. Then again, when the whole narrative is trending like crazy, there should always be demand for the old, solid ones like Dogwifhat.

Conclusion

I'm aiming to balance my meme coin portfolio in the same way as my other portfolios meaning a mixture of blue chips and more degen plays. So in this case, $WIF would be that solid play as the other two would fall in the category of riskier investments.

That being said, especially $GOAT is really interesting as it indeed is the first one in AI agent-created coins and even if a more earlier one should emerge, $GOAT would probably be remembered as the first. Whatever sector or narrative, the pioneer one should never be shrugged off. Think of Bitcoin and how many people passed that opportunity as just nonsense.

$GOAT could very well be a little piece of AI history in the making getting a little exposure to it even with a small amount isn't such a bad idea in my opinion.

DISCLAIMERS:

TON mini-apps I'm currently playing:

🔹 Blum - play mini-game and complete tasks to earn Blum points (pre-market trading live on Whales Market!)
🔹 Wizzwoods - cool strategy game (Berachain + Tabi)
🔹 TON Station - very simple farming game with a lot of potential
🔹 Agent 301 - perhaps the next $DOGS
🔹 Tomarket - hurry up! airdrop in October

❗ I don't recommend investing any money into TG games. The actual airdrop might not cover the amount you put in.

Meme coins are gaining much popularity these days. Doge Coin perhaps got into more hype when Elon took over and rebranded it.
Meme's have attractive features and low price range and high volatility. Maybe for these two reasons they grow up the level of fan choice.

Indeed! One thing I like about them is that the MC/FDV -ratio is usually 1.0 or close to it meaning no big unlocks on the horizon. 👍

When did Elon take over DOGE? LOL! All he did was promote it. DOGE is an actual decentralized blockchain built on a proof of work network like Bitcoin and Litecoin. You can't just simply 'take over' a blockchain like that.
