What if crimes were reported directly to a blockchain, instead of filed at a police station?

If the crimes are reported accurately, the citizen improves their reputation over time

We get more transparent crime statistics

Just a thought

Sort:

Already happening I suspect.

Scary thought: False accusations would be permanent. Without clear indication it was proven false people will cancel someone based on a bogus claim. This already happens. I can imagine it being much worse with a permanent record on-chain.

Good point.

The claims wouldn't be taken seriously unless the person who reported the crime had built up a solid public reputation (on the blockchain)

There are concerns that certain crimes aren't being reported to the federal government.
