Yes, but I paid with Bitcoin there back in 2019! It was a pretty painless process a the time. Just had to go to a specific till, accept a digital agreement (in Japanese!), and then send the Bitcoin.
Sounds like the policy has changed since then though.
ya I know a few bars accepted bitcoin a while ago but they don’t anymore for legal reasons I guess? I think technically it’s legal but it opens people up to audits or inspection and all that so they do t want to do it
Yes there were also bars accepting Bitcoin Cash, thanks to Roger and his team's efforts back then.
Yes, the government doesn't want to lose their control over money, that's for sure.
also there are a loooot of scams here just around Bitcoin, so people shy away from using it as currency and just invest in it on exchanges
Yeah it's a shame... most people are just looking at it as a way to make more fiat currency.
