Scarce Jobs For Young Canadians As Living Costs Skyrocket

in LeoFinance2 days ago

I've been seeing frequent posts about Canadians, especially young ones, struggling to find work and survive in Canada, where the cost of living has been absolutely skyrocketing in recent years.

In this post, we will cover some survival tips for today's lackluster job market, get you out of the TradFi Matrix, and prepared for the crypto-powered economy of the future.

First of all, it's important to accept the unfortunate situation we are in. Decades of money printing have siphoned money out of the real economy, and into financial assets. Mass migration and subsidized wages have resulted in young Canadians being rejected from typical entry-level jobs.

So what can you do?

Reduce Expenses

First of all, seriously consider reducing your expenses to stay out of debt and in the green, because the only way you'll get ahead is by spending less than you earn, and investing the difference.

Are you used to living in a 2-bedroom condo with a gym and a pool, but just lost your job and your investments are down 90%? It's time to move out of downtown and find a small room you can rent in a house for less than half of what you were paying before.

Were you eating out at fancy restaurants and buying expensive lattes? Time to frequent the local produce shop to get your vegetables at a discount. Were you driving a car to get yourself around the city? Sell it, and take the bus instead.

You get the idea. Sacrifice your lifestyle now, so you can enjoy freedom and luxuries in the future. Debt is modern day slavery, and you should avoid it at all costs.

Move Abroad

The other option is to totally change your residence, and move to a country where the cost of living is much lower, and where the services you can offer would be in more demand. Have you considering freelancing, trading, or teaching English, for example?

Empires have risen and fallen throughout history. Life's too short to spend your time wasting away in a withering country. Consider it an adventure, and make that leap into the unknown. After all, you can always go back (you probably won't want to though).

Avoid The Public Sector

Due to reckless monetary policy and automation, the old economy has been shrinking for decades now. The efficient private sector has almost been entirely replaced by the bloated public sector, as the government morphs into an ungodly monstrosity.

These days, the only way you'll get a public sector job is if you sell your soul and agree to follow woke policies, inject yourself with experimental "vaccines", and embrace diversity over merit. Don't sell yourself short of what you could accomplish in a free market.

Focus on Crypto and Web3

At least we still have one meritocracy left - the world of crypto and Web3. Don't let the bear market deceive you. As more and more young people become dismayed by the lack of opportunities in TradFi, they will come to embrace a new economy powered by crypto.

Keep in mind that you don't have to necessarily be a technical person to get involved in Web3. There are positions available in graphic design, marketing, business operations, social media, etc. You will discover this if you pay attention to the Web3 projects posting jobs on X.

Also consider contributing early to DePIN projects, or SoFi networks like Hive and InLeo. The money you earn now may seem small compared to what established players are earning in TradFi. However, you must always consider the potential future value of these tokens when investing your time.

Until next time...

Young people in Canada, and the rest of the western world, have been born into an unfortunate situation. That said, the solution won't arrive by dwelling on the problem, but rather to reduce your living expenses, relocate if necessary, and set your sights on the future economy.
