I have noticed same issue time without number and I have complained about it but it looks I wasn't clear enough for understanding.
This is common with all new accounts that are created on hive. I also experiment it myself with a new account. When a new account comments on your activities, you won't get the notification on Leo front end, but you will see it in other front end like Ecency and others.
But when the account does account consistently engage and make more than 600 threads, then when you use it to reply on other threads, you will start seeing the notification on the inLeo front end.

Yeah my friend @bannersandborder have notified me of this as well.
This is definitly a killer for new accounts.
Because they may think we don't respond to their messages because they are new... Lol...
But most of the time, I reply them from another interface when I get their notifications....
I have experiment its and this is the fact from my end. So I think the Leo team should look into the new account permissions or what ever it is and work on it... Because if a new user reply on your thread's and you didn't see his or her message in other to reply her from the Leo front end, it might discourage them that maybe you was their message and don't want to reply them. It will make they to engage less on other persons activities.
I would plead with @khaleelkazi and the Leo team to look into it...
You also won't see it on PeakD, the "average" notification system on HIVE omits a lot of things, and this is one of them.
Ecency's notification system is a lot better.

Not necessarily 600 threads... My account @reminder.ping started showing up on notifications after recieving several upvotes from different accounts.
Still, it took 3 days from its creation until it started showing up.
I only experimented the threading aspect of it.... With a new account....
I pray it gets fixed....
