Privacy and security are definitely two big reasons.
I've realized that there are only really two windows applications left that I use, and I can run those in a virtualized windows instance inside linux.
If you're curious, I recommend installing VirtualBox on your Windows PC and create a virtual installation for yourself. Then you can try it out without changing anything on your current setup
