So every 2.4 hours it takes your 2% voting power. If your voting power is 100% then it will become 98%. You will get upvotes on your post whenever you post on Hive or Steemit.
Just explore it, you will understand how does it work.

Note: I don't recommend authorizing it if you do most of your upvotes manually. Instead, you can subscribe for 1 month for 1 Hive that's a good option.

Don’t use it if you have low Hive power. Otherwise, your resource credits will end. You should have a minimum of 50 HP I think.

Tips 2: Use Ecency.com to post on Hive. You will earn Ecency points for activities such as posts, comments, upvotes, reblog, usage, etc. on Ecency.com. You can use this earned Ecency point to boost your post. You can also promote your post with Ecency points on Ecency.com.

Tips 3: Always post in the community, so more peoples can see your post. Choose community according to your post topic.

What should do as a Newcomer on Hive?

First write your introduction post. Use #introduceyourself tag.
Post consistently (daily) quality content, at starting you may not get more upvotes. But keep trying.
Comments on the post. Daily at least 20+ comments. This will help you to increase your fan base.
