What's The Deal With Arlic Stormbringer As An Investment?

So the last 24 hours has been frustrating for a newbie with less than a day left in his first season. But I understand that the team is hard at work building a sustainable game and dealing with growth. So I can wait a day.

So since I'm looking at downtime and I'm really that new I was wondering to get some wisdom of the crowd about cards as investments but particularly Arlic.

I use him more and more he is a valuable card for a guy like me. I was lucky enough to get starter packs on day 1 of the game but honestly was overwhelmed with what I saw on the dashboard and couldn't make sense of what we had to do to play.

This was my first card type game and i gave up. It has knawghed away at me since then because I am the type that would have done every daily quest and as a result I would have not only a better understanding of the game but I would have a mighty treasure from a few years of chests.

But I managed to get a few cards like Arlic although its an old ard, But What happens when they bring out a new card with similar power but a cheaper price? Will that hurt the value of the Arlic Cards. I have a few abnd if they appreciate thats great but if a similra card with similar power floods the market that would be a bummer.

What are your thoughts on this

Interesting card, I think Wizards are cool in general.

I don’t play this game, but I am assuming from what I have read about the cards that they can be leveled up and made more powerful, and thus valuable. I must admit I have made a few attempts to read about how money is made and cards level up, but I must admit that the siren song of decentralized finance calls me back, so my time studying steem-monsters, now Splinterlands has been interrupted several times.

However I do remember @rentmoney plays this game and he wrote about how you can make a decent income playing or renting out cards. I suspect that learning which cards were valuable to rent and what characteristics make them valuable can be learned playing the game, but also learning about the rental market too.

Good Luck!

I don't think the price will drop as much. From what I have seen, using alpha/beta cards gives you a boost to your DEC rewards in fights. So I guess there will still be an advantage of using Alric but I am unsure how it will ultimately affect prices.

The founders of the game are very good at making sure each card is unique. When new cards are introduced they are less costly then the ones already in print so many opt in to buying the cheaper ones. In the past this caused the previous editions of cards to dip in price. We have a much bigger player base now and more joining daily which might off set that but no-one knows for sure. All we can do is wait and see what the market does.

Hopefully you kept those cards is my thought.

I did. You think the old cards will go up?

yes. Arlic is now $450. I wish I would have bought some before yesterday as I didn't even think the standard free cards would get shuffled out of the deck.
