I'm so sorry to hear that, I can only imagine how devastating that must be, I still live in a part of the city that is reasonable but naturally that means you're far away from things like stores and other facilities. I don't think I'll ever be able to afford a home in the city with the prices of homes, wages you can earn and the structure of debt, so naturally, you're forced into the extortion of renting

I tried at both places to rent out a room and was screwed over in the long run cause if/when they decide not to pay rent you can't kick them out and it can take months to kick them out and a lot of money. With proper lease agreements, renters can prevent some time and cost in the long run. but as a struggling single mother of 3 kids, it's impossible. I always had a backup plan albeit not the best of ones at times. We try to make it work and try to build up again and pray the cycle ends.
Yes, I often say that when people tell me oh its easy money get a property and rent it out and I am like no you don't always know the quality of your tenants and its NOT easy money and you also have to maintain the property too.
As for getting them out yes it's another story they also have consumer rights and getting an eviction notice is expensive and many times they don't have the cash or assets to cover the fees and outstanding rent to the owner so you're at a loss
I do hope you will make it through this and that crypto can help, I hope that for myself too
