Today I wanted to celebrate a pretty cool curation milestone for myself!

Curation makes the (hive) world go 'round, right?
There are a lot of things that are really interesting in life. One of the things that I enjoy in some aspects is hitting milestones. Not in terms of my age anymore.. but that's a different story. For me, milestones are an important part of my job but also can have some interesting dips into my hobbies like Hive for example! I hit one of those milestones the other day, and it was pretty dope!
Just the other day I was going into Hivestats to check out one thing or another. I forget exactly what it was but it was related to my 30 day earnings, since it is the end of the month and all. I knew I was in the 9,000 range for Hive Power curation returns, but I don't check it incredibly regularly so I didn't have an idea of when it was going to tick over to the 10k mark. Sure enough, I randomly hopped in the site and bam! 10k curation threshold was crossed just within the last 24 or 48 hours! That's some pretty good luck haha.
I think that's a really awesome milestone for me because it helps show the growth that my account is getting by the consistency of powering up and constantly adding to my stake here. We can only guess at this point what a platform like this will be in 3, 5 or 8 years down the road from now. We can't really think in 10 year periods at the moment with the technology space. Lord only knows what will happen in 10 years, we could have quantum computing and these platforms could be removed entirely simply because they are not mainstream enough. Dystopian is a fun theme to rabbit hole down!
In the meantime though, getting my rewards stacking up and expanding to my curation rewards coming in stronger and stronger, the growth on that only goes up as time goes on. I think curation really is noticeable and takes off after 10k Hive Power, and then it's off to the races! That was a fun boost that took place at that time, and it's been growing ever since.
I think one of the other really good things about curation and the building of accounts in the middle-class is that we are able to reward a pretty wide range of people and audience, and help promote things that we like. I know this is a double edged sword because there are some people who have an opinion that is good to hear, but not well-received by some and so it gets down voted and removed. It's yin and yang in a lot of ways - the good with the bad. The hive middle-class is coming into that exponential curve aspect of it all and that's cool to watch!
I've got a few peeps that I like to interact with, which I've selected for a few reasons but one of the main ones besides having a decent rapport and conversation, is that they invest not only their time in the platform but their rewards as well. There are plenty of ways in which people can grow, earn but also use their assets at the same time. Sadly a lot of people don't understand or care about that and just siphon it all off. Thankfully most of my curation rewards aren't from those people anymore!

Like, you, I try to limit curation to those that are only 100% siphoning off everything without trying to build and support others too. Congratulations on 10k. I think many underestimate the power of compounding, especially with things like curation rewards and all that.
Oh for sure man! It's really important that we try, as medium sized accounts, to promote people who are investing in the platform by not siphoning their rewards away.
Curation really bumps up quite quickly after a certain point! It felt like after 30k it really took off which is cool.
I am also trying to do the same, I can still do power every month and see the reward, but now there is a difficult situation, so my account is on power down and congratulations.
That's good I'm glad you power up, that's important. Hopefully you won't have to power down for long and can get back to building!

I do a mixture, where I have automatic ones like yourself and I follow Curangel on a specific amount but I think it's a good blend. I get to use a bunch myself which is cool! For the ones I do myself I try to focus it on people who don't sell all their assets to help promote keeping assets on hive.
Congrats on reaching such a respectable milestone! I hope to one day reach that amount. I guess as long as I focus on good interactions and continue communicating with peeps all will be good.😀 Keep up the amazing work. I do enjoy reading your posts.
